Walking around is mainly attracted by the superb İğneada beach, just a five-minute walk from the hotel. This vast expanse of fine sand extends for kilometers along the coast, allowing for plenty of untapped space for sunbathing, walking, and swimming. When you get bored of the beach itself, the hotel features a very big swimming pool and surrounding terrace that surely become a main social hub in their own right and can take a whole afternoon of yours just being there.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the small town center of İğneada. The town is very modest, and you can tell that it has never grown beyond being just a small fishing village. Not a big number of them, the local fish restaurants, are congregated around the little-fishing ports there and serve fresh seasonal catches from the Black Sea. And a couple of basic cafes (kahvehane) and little grocery stores (bakkal) where you might pick up some essentials do not pack a full range of shops or ways to have fun.
The famous Longoz Forests National Park’s edge and some of its lakes, like Lake Mert, can be reached on foot in a longer time (20-30 minutes) or a very short drive. You can walk to the spot where the forest touches the sea – quite exceptional in beauty. But for full exploration of the park’s depths and the lakes, you need some form of transport.
